Spring in the Lowcountry

Spring is here in the Lowcountry and tourists enjoy visiting historic Drayton Plantation on the Ashley River during these months of mild weather. It is a beautiful plantation that takes your senses back in time to experience colonial Charleston and the aristocratic life of William Henry Drayton. Walking tours of the plantation provide visitors with detailed information on Drayton’s 18th century life and lifestyle.

Running into Marion Square

Last Saturday thousands of runners finished the 2016 Cooper River Bridge Run. The 10k race takes participants over Shem Creek and then across the imposing Ravenel Bridge into Charleston. Runners cross the finish line on Meeting Street and are ushered into Marion Square for water, food, and a chance to relax and recover. Marion Square is a wonderful local park that honors the legendary man who fought for American freedom in the Revolutionary War.

Where is your HOPE on Easter Sunday?

The 18th century New England pastor Jonathan Edwards is known today primarily for his sermon, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. This powerful revival sermon on the sinfulness of humanity and the sovereignty of God changed hearts and minds when Edwards preached it nearly three centuries ago.

Edwards preached on sin, but he also preached about the hope we have because of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
