Psalms is unique among the books of the Bible. As Athanasius observed in the fourth century, most of Scripture speaks to us while the Psalms speak for us.

In the Psalms we find God addressed with hymns of thanksgiving, pleas for forgiveness, calls for divine rescue from the enemy, and hymnic songs of celebration. The Psalms express the breadth of human responses to God's work among us.

Moreover, the Psalms point readers to a coming King - one who is the King of Kings. As early as Psalm 2, we read about an anointed King who far surpasses any earthly ruler; he is one who rules over all creation.

Join us Sundays at 10:30 a.m. as we spend a summer in the Psalms - studying, learning, and reflecting on this wonderful Old Testament book. We will study psalms of thanksgiving, praise, lament, meditation, and trust. Ultimately, the Psalms are the Christian prayer book and hymnal, containing words by which we pray and worship the Triune God.

"Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Serve the LORD with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the LORD, he is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the LORD is good; his steadfast loves endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations" (Psalm 100).
