At Shem Creek Presbyterian Church we are studying through the letters of the Apostle John. These letters were written near the end of the 1st century to Christians struggling with false teaching and unity in the early church. What can we learn from John that can impact life and the church today?
There are three important challenges John gives us that are significant for us today.
1. Are we following the moral test? Do we follow the law of God or have we compromised our morality and ethics?
2. Are we following the social test? Do we demonstrate love towards others or have we embraced the materialism of our culture?
3. Are we following the doctrinal test? Do we believe what Scripture teaches or are we sacrificing biblical truth for cultural relevance?
The Apostle John gives us these three important tests throughout his letter. These are good questions to ask as we seek to follow the Lord Jesus Christ and reach Mt Pleasant with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
