Prayer expresses faith.

As a new Bible-believing church in Mt Pleasant, prayer is essential as we seek to impact our community with the redemptive news of Jesus Christ.

Interestingly, in the history of the Christian church there have been times set aside for devoted prayer. These are called "concerts of prayer."

For example, in the early 18th century, Christians in Germany began a concert of prayer that lasted for over 100 years! In the summer of 1727, 24 men and 24 women promised to spend an hour in scheduled prayer. The result was that over a 24-hour period, at least 1 person was praying for their church and community. The Lord blessed them and their informal concert of prayer continued for over a century! Moreover, by the end of the 18th century that community had sent over 300 missionaries all over the globe.

As the summer slowly draws to an end and school resumes in August, we want to set aside a 24 hour period of prayer where we commit to praying for our church and our community. Our time of devoted prayer will begin on 8/10 at noon and end 8/11 at noon.

The link below provides you with a document where you can find a 30 minute period to pray. Please find a time on document and sign your name, promising to spend that time devoted to prayer.

Our goal is that for an entire 24 hours our new church will be devoted to praying. A full day of prayer is significant as we seek to grow in the Gospel for Christ and for our community.
